most of these were rejects. so the fact that i got anything decent out of them is a miracle. the last one needs a little work around the trees. 08:15 - March 4, 2008 - comments {3} - post commentHDRThere is this neat technique making the rounds: bracket three exposures and let photoshop combine them to get increased exposure latitude. It's called High Dynamic Range.
I can accomplish this with layers and layer masks, but CS3 has made it so much easier.
Here's the before and after of the Frost Bank Tower.
After merging them.
And after upping the contrast and cleaning up a bit.

Taken on Thanksgiving day. Used the "Graphic pen" filter, upped the contrast (a lot-have I mentioned I hate light-colored walls?) 10:31 - December 2, 2007 - comments {2} - post commentDaisy On a Motorcycle

These imported photo magazines are really paying off. 01:20 - October 27, 2007 - comments {15} - post commentUT Clocktower
A friend of a friend was going to buy a photo of the University of Texas clocktower and frame it as a gift. My friend told her I could do that for the same price. Then I realized I only had one picture that was ok, when it had the #1 (after the Rose bowl). I like it but it's not great. There are quite a few others that are better. So I set out to take more. The day is perfect, with sporadic cloud cover and not too hot (92 Fahrenheit is NOT hot for Texas). Here is one of them. Is it me or does it look greenish? I'm using my laptop, so the RAW conversion comes courtesy of Preview, which doesn't let me tweak much. I will work more on it tonight. 03:37 - October 7, 2007 - comments {2} - post commentCrystal: Extra
